Two Hikes at Rockwoods Reservation

So, I went hiking the Rock Quarry trail in Rockwoods Reservation, which is a 1,843-acre (746 ha) state forest and wildlife conservation area located in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. It was established in 1938 by the Missouri Department of Conservation, making it one of the oldest conservation areas managed by the department. The reservation is situated near Wildwood, Missouri, and it offers a diverse range of plant and animal species, as well as springs, caves, and rock formations. The area features 13 miles of foot trails…. but you can read the Wikipedia entry for yourself.

The first time, it was still snow and ice covered – and I had some challenges.

The second trip, I had improved some equipment and had a slightly less annoying hike, that went a bit further. That Lime Kiln Trail section was tough on my old knees, but I recovered.
